It is also called the Central Plains of Luzon which encompasses the largest plains in the Philippines producing most of the country’s rice supply. The provinces comprising Central Luzon are: Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales. San Fernando City, Pampanga is the regional centre.
Fun Fact: The second largest terrestrial eruption of the 20th century happened in Pampanga during the Mt. Pinatubo 1990 eruption. Since then, the lahar formations that was left of the disaster has become a popular sightseeing destination which helps boost tourism in the region.
